Qaarsutsiaq [ ˈqɑːˌsːut͡siɑq ] (according to the old spelling K'aersutsiaĸ ) is a deserted Greenland shepherd settlement in the district of Qaqortoq in the municipality of Kujalleq .

location

Qaarsutsiaq is located on the west bank of Qaarsup Kangia Bay on a peninsula. The closest places are Saarloq 13 km west-southwest, Eqalugaarsuit 8 km northwest and Alluitsup Paa 18 km southeast.

Population development

Qaarsutsiaq still had over ten residents at the end of the 1970s. The population then fell and the shepherd's settlement has been abandoned since 1996.
