Illorsuit [ ˌiˈɬːɔsːuitˢʰ ] ( Igdlorssuit according to the old spelling ) is a Greenlandic shepherd's settlement in the Qaqortoq district in the Kujalleq municipality .

location

Illorsuit is located on the northwest bank of the Igalikup Kangerlua on the bay of Musartuut Iterlaat . On the other side of the fjord is the Tasikuluulik (Vatnahverfi) lake area with numerous other shepherd settlements . The nearest major town from Illorsuit is Qaqortoq , which is 21 km southwest.

Population development

The population of Illorsuit used to be in the double digits, but has now declined to between three and five people. The last known population of the shepherd settlements was for 2013. Illorsuit is statistically listed under "Farms at Eqalugaarsuit".
