The Saure Matten nature reserve is located in the area of the Baden-Württemberg city of Ettenheim .

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of September 22, 1995 and has a size of 18.5 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.214. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 165342 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The protected area is located in the Seltenbachtal west of the Ettenheim district of Wallburg . It is located in the natural area 211- Lahr-Emmendinger Vorberge within the natural spatial main unit 21- Middle Upper Rhine Lowland .

In the north and south, the NSG borders the Black Forest Central / North Nature Park . A small part is also in FFH area No. 7713-341 Black Forest western edge from Herbolzheim to Hohberg .

Protection purpose

The protection purpose is the preservation of a section of the Seltenbachtal with a large, ecologically important structural diversity, in particular with wet areas, meadows, orchards and dry slopes, as a habitat for rare and sometimes highly endangered animal and plant species.
