Burak Savaş Aktürk (born May 23, 1989 in İzmit ) is a Turkish ice hockey player who has been under contract with İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK in the Turkish Super League since 2012 .

Career

Savaş Aktürk began his career as an ice hockey player with Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt SK in his hometown İzmit , for whom he made his debut in the Turkish Super League in the 2006/07 season . In his first season he became Turkish champions with his team . After becoming Turkish runner-up in 2008, he left his hometown in 2009 and switched to the university sports club Ankara . With his new team, he became the champion of his country again straight away in 2010. Nevertheless, after only a year he moved on to İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK , who was still playing in the second division at the time. With the team from the Aegean coast , he immediately rose to the super league. In the 2011/12 season he was then for Başkent Yıldızları SK on the ice and was able to win his third championship title with the third club with the team from Ankara . He then moved back to İzmir , where he has been playing ever since.

International

For Turkey, Aktürk took part in the junior division in Division III at the U18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2007 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2005 , 2007 and 2008 .

He played with the men's national team at the World Championships of Division II in 2010 , when he was named the best player of his team, in 2013 and 2014, and at the World Championships of Division III in 2011 , 2012 , 2015 and 2016 . He was also on the ice for the team from the Bosporus during the pre-qualification for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
