Schömberg is a district of the city of Weida in the Greiz district in Thuringia .
geography
Schömberg is located in the center of the Greiz district and in the west of the city of Weida , not far from the Aumatalsperre .
history
In 1209 Schömberg was first officially named as Schoneberg . In 1819 "the place on the Aumabach" was named as Schönberg, had 135 inhabitants, belonged to the Weida office and was a branch village of Steinsdorf in terms of church politics. 1 The main parts of the village church are of Romanesque origin. The street village covered an area of 297 hectares in 1905 . Since 1991 Schömberg has been part of the Leubatal administrative community . This was dissolved on December 31, 2013 and Schömberg was incorporated into Weida at the same time .
