Schönau is a locality and, as Schönau Amt, a cadastral municipality of the Bad Traunstein municipality in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 19 building areas with 10,973 m² and 8 gardens on 6,687 m² in the cadastral community Schönau Amt , in 1989/1990 there were 19 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 60 and in 2009/2010 there were 36 buildings on 56 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 206 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 145 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 162 hectares and 187 hectares were designated as forest areas. At the end of 2018, 147 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 196 hectares. The average soil climate in Schönau Amt is 17.1 (as of 2010).
