Schaffalitzky of Muckadell also Schaffelitzky of Muckodell and changing realizations ( Schafflützel of Mucke Dell / Muckhendel / mosquito Thal ), in Denmark Schaffalitzky de Muckadell , the name is one of Moravian derived noble family .

history

At first the name was probably written Pschovolitzky ( Pschovvolizky ), for the family residing in the Marckodiel Castle ( Mu (c) kodiel / Muckathell ) near Brno in Moravia. The castle was destroyed during the Hussite Wars of 1418–36.

According to a source-based genealogy by Carl Adolph Baron Schaffalitzky de Muckadell (1904–1988), supplemented and edited by Mogens Baron Schaffalitzky de Muckadell (1916–2007) until 2004, the progenitor of the family is a Tverdise (* around 1120), burgrave of Hadonin and Podivin . His son was Sudomir (* around 1160), father of Sudomir of Veseli (* around 1200), to Veseli in Moravia, burgrave of Bršlava and father of Tverdise of Veseli (* around 1240), also burgrave of Bršlava and father of Sudek of Veseli (* around 1280). His son was Kusý von Strabenice (around 1320-1374), father of Johann (Kusý) von Oleksovice (* around 1370).

Brackenheim Castle , largely rebuilt between 1550 and 1565. Official seat of the Obervogtes Sebastian Schaffalitzky von Muckadell (1551–1624)

His son was Heinrich Kusý von Muckodél (* around 1420), father of Peter Kusý von Muckodél (* around 1460), from whom Burian Psovlcký von Muckodél (1501–1556) descended. His son Sebastian Psovolicky (Psovlcký) von Muckodél (Sebastian Pschovvolizky) (around 1500 / 20–1558) is probably identical to Schaffalitzky, who in 1558 led 1000 musketeers in the service of Württemberg .

His son with Anna von Rabenhaupt ( Robenhaupt von Sucha / Robmhap ze Suché ) was Sebastian Schaffalitzky von Muckadell (1551-1624) , who was still born in Moravia . He came to Duke Ludwig von Württemberg , initially served on the Spanish side in the Netherlands and took part in the war between Spain and Portugal . He then came back to Württemberg and was appointed Obervogt des Zabergaus with his seat in Brackenheim , and later also inspector of all fortresses in Württemberg. By buying it in 1590, he became lord of the Freudental near Besigheim .

The family counted from 1590 to 1685 with the possession of Gut Freudental and with the Oberöwisheim acquired in 1686 to the knight canton Kocher of the knight circle Swabia . From 1623 to 1675 the family also owned a free farm in Faurndau .

Their headquarters in Arreskov is still family-owned and his eldest son, the chamberlain, court hunter, lieutenant, landowner and lawyer Erik Schaffalitzky de Muckadell still had the title of count (but only as greve ).

In 1847 Friedrich von Schaffalitzky-Muckodell received Württemberg recognition of the title of baron.
