The Schenkenberg nature reserve is located in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . It extends northeast of the core town of Bad Blankenburg and north not far from the Schwarza . The B 88 runs south of the area, the B 85 runs east and flows the Saale .
