The Battle of Siek or Battle of Alt-Rahlstedt was a battle during the Wars of Liberation near the Stormarn village of Siek .
During the autumn campaign of 1813 , Russian-Prussian troops advanced against the French-occupied Hamburg . Russian Cossacks and Danish dragoons fighting on the French side met at Siek.
The battle was remembered by the Danish Colonel Bonniche Bonnichsen. At the end of the battle, he was unable to flee because of his exhausted horse and turned down a trumpeter's offer to use his horse to flee. Bonnichsen did not survive the battle, but is said to have been buried with full military honors by the opposing Prussian-Russian troops after the battle .
