Seeleiten Castle

The Castle Seeleiten is a castle in Seeleiten, in the municipality of Seehausen am Staffelsee in Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen . The castle was built by the architect Emanuel von Seidl in 1903/04. From 1984 to 1989 it was converted into a condominium complex.

The castle is described in the Bavarian Monument List (No. D-1-80-132-22) as follows:

“By Emanuel von Seidl , 1903/04, 1984–89 conversion to a condominium complex. The mansion is a two-storey cubic Zeltdachbau with corner bay , gable risalit , high round corner tower and set back hipped -Längsbau in baroque- art nouveau forms . "

The so-called "Kavaliershaus" of the castle (No. D-1-80-124-72) is described as follows:

"Former so-called cavalier house of Seeleiten Castle (see architectural monuments in Seeleiten), flat-saddle roof building in the Alpine homeland style with a timbered upper floor, arbors and polygonal corner cores , based on a design by Emanuel von Seidl, 1909, enlarged and reshaped by Gustav Reuter after a fire in 1925."
