Schreiber & Leser (Abbreviation: S&L ) is a German comic publisher based in Hamburg , which was founded in 1981 by Rossi Schreiber in Munich.

The publisher brings out international comics and graphic novels , which, true to its own motto “Fine Comics for Adults”, are aimed specifically at an adult readership. The main program includes the main works of the Franco-Belgian comic duo François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters , the US indie comic icon Terry Moore and the Franco-German comic artist Andreas . Classic comics such as Corto Maltese by Hugo Pratt and the sequels by Rubén Pellejero and Juan Díaz Canales, Canardo by Benoît Sokal or Serpieri's Druuna series can also be found in the main program, which is thematically less in the common comic genres such as superhero stories, fantasy or Science fiction moves, but turns to historical adventure and social drama.
