history

The Grimma Education Authority, founded in 1550, emerged from the property of the secularized Nimbschen Monastery and was responsible for the administration of the property and the economic maintenance of the Grimma Princely School . In 1550 one of the three Wettin princely schools was established in the former Augustinian monastery . For economic maintenance, the school received eight villages from the former property of the Nimbschen monastery from the sovereign . From 1829 onwards the education authority was gradually merged with the Grimma inheritance authority with regard to financial management, and from 1835 with regard to the judiciary. In 1856 the Grimma Judicial Office was dissolved, and the Grimma Judicial Office took over its tasks.
