action

Professor Eva Senn, a successful science journalist from Magdeburg , loses her driver's license due to alcohol . Her broken marriage with the doctor Dr. Kurt Senn collapses at the same time. One day when she is out in town with her friend Marie, she parks briefly in the second lane just to get dog food. Eva, now alone in the car, is soon harassed by a city bus that does not come by. Although she doesn't have a driver's license, she tries to reverse the car into a free parking space and hits Lea Freundner, a student. This is henceforth paraplegic . After the trial, she was gutted by the press and even a stranger threw a paint bag at her.

The same perpetrator wants to take revenge for Lea Leid and threatens the professor with calls and threats. However, she does not want to report these threats because she feels sorry for Lea and wants to help her with new healing methods. But then Lea suddenly disappears from her apartment. Eva barricades herself in her apartment and breaks off social contacts. Nevertheless, she wants to find Lea again and finds a helper in the lawyer Peer Gutenberg. He got her to report the threatening phone calls to the police after she found her disused Alfa Romeo badly damaged and painted in color in the underground car park. Gutenberg, who has experienced something similar, advises her not to research any further and will stay with her for the time being. But then the stranger lures Gutenberg out of the apartment and appears masked in front of her. Gutenberg appears on time, but is stabbed in a scuffle. The perpetrator escapes, but the lawyer survives seriously injured.

Commissioner Hellman advises Dr. Senn to submerge. After finding out Leaa's place of birth from her colleague Professor Schnippe, she goes there. The pastor of the church tells her the true story of Leah. Her parents did not perish in Kitzbühel, they died of cancer and suicide . She also has a convicted brother named Jonas. He gives her his address in Magdeburg. She looks for them in an old block of flats and gives her a tip to get in. She discovers, by means of clothing, that Jonas is the culprit and Lea is in the apartment. When Lea believes that she has heard her brother, Eva realizes that Lea really has feelings of revenge and that her brother, who is just showing up, tries to prevent her from leaving the apartment. He wants to beat the professor down with a vacuum cleaner pipe and is knocked down by her through an ashtray. The police take them both away, Eva visits Gutenberg in the hospital and closes her old marriage by throwing the wedding ring and other memories with her husband's favorite lunch box in the trash.

criticism

"(Ferndeh) drama about a career woman who is losing her feet and is confronted with the destruction of her previous life."

"Director Nils Willbrandt [...] shot this genre work based on his own script, which was tailored to the always brilliant leading actress Thekla Carola Wied. However, the whole thing seems pretty implausible and in some places sometimes completely out of thin air. Because too much suddenly falls on the protagonist. Here, fewer entanglements and blows of fate would certainly have been more! "
