Schwärze , Polish Ćwiercie , is a village in Upper Silesia . Blackness is located in the municipality of Walzen ( Walce ) in the powiat Krapkowicki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Blackness is four kilometers northwest of the municipality of Walzen , nine kilometers south of the district town of Krapkowice (Krappitz) and 31 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

Schwärze was first mentioned in a document in 1568 and was then owned by Count Hans von Redern.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 76 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and three for Poland. Blackness remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 136 inhabitants. In 1939 the place had 119 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Ćwiercie and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Krapkowicki . On April 4, 2006 , German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Walzen , which Schwärze belongs to, and on June 3, 2009, the place was also given the official German place name Schwärze .
