Zabierzau , Polish Zabierzów , is a village in Upper Silesia . Zabierzau is located in the municipality of Walzen ( Walce ) in the powiat Krapkowicki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Zabierzau is three kilometers northwest of the municipality of Walzen , ten kilometers south of the district town of Krapkowice (Krappitz) and 32 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole ( Opole ).
history
Zabierzau was first mentioned in 1282 as Saberow . The first school was opened in 1899.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 155 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and thirteen for Poland. Zabierzau remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 279 inhabitants. On June 15, 1936, the place was renamed Hinterwalde . In 1939 the place had 295 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Zabierzów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 Zabierzów became part of the re-established Powiat Krapkowicki . On April 4, 2006 , German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Walzen , to which Zabierzau belongs, and on June 3, 2009, the place was also given the official German place name Zabierzau .
