Kramelau , in Polish Kromołów , is a village in Upper Silesia . Kramelau is located in the municipality of Walzen ( Walce ) in the powiat Krapkowicki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Kramelau is four kilometers northwest of the municipality of Walzen , eight kilometers south of the district town of Krapkowice (Krappitz) and 30 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .
history
Kramelau was first mentioned in a document on April 19, 1193. In 1312 it was mentioned as Kramulowitz and the mayor Peter the Lame was named. The first school was opened in 1862.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 397 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 31 for Poland. Kramelau remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 635 inhabitants. In 1939 the place had 646 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Kromołów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Krapkowicki . On April 4, 2006 , German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality of Walzen , which Kramelau belongs to, and on June 3, 2009, the place was also given the official German place name Kramelau .
