At 561 meters above sea level, the Schwarzenberg is the second highest, but by far the most dominant and prominent mountain of the Breidenbacher Grund in the Gladenbacher Bergland . Its peak is near the border of the district Breidenbach to Biedenkopf , just to Breidenbacher page.

With Schwarzenberg and the entire, uninterrupted by any public road forest or the associated ridge on the border of the municipalities Breidenbach, Biedenkopf and Dautphetal referred to the inter alia the Nimerich , at 533 m, the second highest Dautphetals lies.

A large part of the Schwarzenberg wind farm is located in the eponymous mountain area.
