Wolzhausen is a district of the Breidenbach community in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district in central Hesse .
Geographical location
The place is north of Quotshausen and northwest of Silberg . It can be reached via the state road 3049, which ends in the federal road 253 in Breidenbach . There is a primary school in town and two playgrounds.
history
Wolzhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1334 under the name Wolkoldishusen .
The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Wolzhausen in 1830:
"Wolzhausen (L. Bez. Battenberg) evangel. Branch village; is on the Perf, 5 1 ⁄ 4 St. von Battenberg, and belongs to the Baron von Breidenstein. There are 42 houses and 305 inhabitants, all of whom are Protestant, as well as 2 grinding mills, with which 1 oil mill is connected. The previous name is Wolkershussen . "
On July 1, 1974, the previously independent community Wolzhausen, as part of the municipal reform in Hesse , powerful state law in the community Breidenbach incorporated .

In Wolzhausen there is a youth club, a library, a youth choir, the Wolzhausen volunteer fire brigade , a hunting association, a men's choir and, together with Quotshausen, a YMCA .
Wolzhausen had its own football club until about the mid-1990s. The associated Tennenplatz is still used by another Breidenbach football club for training and games.
