Kleingladenbach is a district of the municipality of Breidenbach in the central Hessian district of Marburg-Biedenkopf .
geography
The place is north of Niederdieten , south of Wiesenbach and east of Breidenbach .
history
Kleingladenbach was first mentioned in a document on June 16, 913 as Gladenbach.
The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Bellnhausen in 1830:
"Kleingladenbach (L. Bez. Battenberg) evangel. Branch village; is 5 1 / 4 St. Battenberg and belongs to the Baron Breidenstein. There are 36 houses and 237 residents who are Protestant, like a grinding mill. In 1693 a very rich copper ore mine was under construction here, but it has now been abandoned. "
At the beginning of the 19th century, the place was renamed Kleingladenbach. Because of the unpopularity of this name, the place was finally renamed again in Gladenbach and received the addition "Breidenbach". In 1960 the place was finally renamed "Kleingladenbach", because the post office kept getting confused with Gladenbach . That is why the former namesake is also referred to as "Groß-Gladenbach" by the residents.
Territorial reform
On February 1, 1971, Kleingladenbach was incorporated into the neighboring community of Breidenbach as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
