The Schwarzkogel (also Schwarzkogl ) is 2866  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Muntanitzkamm of the Granatspitz group in the north of East Tyrol . The mountain was first climbed on August 19, 1927 by W. Brandenstein, the first ridge crossing from Kalser Bärenkopf ( 3,079  m above sea level ) was made by H. Peterka and M. Jedlicka on August 9, 1932.

The Schwarzkogel is located in the extended southwest ridge of the north summit of the Kalser Bärenkopf ( 3,037  m above sea level ), with the Lendingscharte ( 2906  m above sea level ) separating the Schwarzkogel from the northwest summit of the Kalser Bärenkopf. The Schwarzkogel itself consists of the main or north summit ( 2866  m above sea level ) and the south summit ( 2820  m above sea level ). The north summit is connected to the south summit by the short south ridge, while the main or south-west ridge descends into the valley of the Landeggbach . To the east of the Schwarzkogel, the Lendig valley head extends between it and the Kalser Bärenkogel, the Knaudl ( 2936  m above sea level ) and the Aderspitze ( 2990  m above sea level ) , where the remains of the Landeggkees and a reservoir for the Tauernmoossee ( power plant group Stubachtal ). To the north lies the Prägratkees on the connecting ridge between the Schwarzkogel and Kalser Bärenkopf . The closest refuge is the Professor-Karl-Fürst-Hütte (shelter hut ) in the north-west, the closest valley village is the village of Raneburg .

Promotion opportunities

The normal route to the Schwarzkogel leads from the Tauern Valley, first along the Landeggbach to the confluence of the Seebach and then along the Seebach eastwards to the Beim See reservoir . From the Seetörl ( 2300  m above sea level ) the further ascent is pathless over slabs to the southwestern roof in the Schartl between the north and south summits and then over blocks to the north summit ( UIAA I ). Alternatively, it is possible to climb via the northeast ridge from the Lendigscharte ( UIAA I ) or via the east face ( UIAA II ).
