Black Forest Fools Association
The Black Forest Fools Association (SNV) is an association of fools guilds of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival in the Black Forest and on the Baar . Almost all of the member associations are located in the Schwarzwald-Baar district and in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district ; one guild each comes from the Tuttlingen district and one from the Waldshut district .
The association mainly unites guilds from smaller towns. While various kinds of carnival customs had long been widespread in many of the villages, guilds and associations mostly only came into being in the second half of the 20th century. In addition to the village associations, some newer groups from the urban carnival strongholds in the region also belong to the association.
The association was founded on October 23, 1971 in Klengen by five fool's guilds and associations and now has 53 members (as of October 2017). It is organized in the form of a registered association . Anne-Rosel Schwarz from Donaueschingen-Wolterdingen has been president since 2017.
The association organizes meetings of fools in different places every year. Every three years the big ring meeting with all 53 guilds takes place. The last [obsolete] took place from February 3rd to 5th, 2017 in Unterkirnach.
The seat of the association was relocated in 2016 to the association's own SNV fool's domicile (office, archive, event rooms), Kirchstrasse 2, 78087 Unterkirnach.
Original masks of the member guilds as well as miniatures of the whole fool figures are exhibited in the museum "Schloss-Fennstuben" in Bonndorf Castle .
