Scott Munroe (born January 20, 1982 in Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League since September 2014 . He is also used at the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL .
Career
Scott Munroe began his career as a hockey player in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League , in which he was named the league's best goalkeeper in 2002, as well as being elected to their First All-Star team. Then he attended for four years, the University of Alabama in Huntsville , he for the ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association was active before the end of the 2005/06 season, his debut in professional hockey for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League announced . With this he was also in the following three seasons under contract before he was transferred to the 2009/10 season by the New York Islanders from the National Hockey League . During the entire season, however, he was only used for their AHL farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers .
For the 2010/11 season Munroe was committed by Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the Continental Hockey League . In July 2011 Munroe signed a two-way contract for one year with the Pittsburgh Penguins and played for their farm team, the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , in the American Hockey League. In the 2012/13 season he was active for the Adirondack Phantoms before he was committed in June 2013 by the Växjö Lakers from the Svenska Hockeyligan .
