Sebastián Sosa , full name Carlos Sebastián Sosa Silva , (born August 19, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football goalkeeper .

Career

society

Depending on the sources, 1.79 m or 1.80 m tall Sosa was appointed to the first team of Club Atlético Peñarol in 2007 , but was initially a substitute goalkeeper. As part of a loan agreement, he moved to Central Español , a competitor in the Uruguayan Primera División . There he was used 28 times in the Clausura of the 2007/08 season and the Apertura of the following season. He succeeded in establishing himself in the sport, which is why Peñarol's coach Julio Ribas gave him preference over the Argentine Pablo Cavallero after his return . Sosa has been a regular goalkeeper for the Aurinegros since the 2009/2010 season and was able to celebrate his greatest success to date with the championship that same season. In the Copa Libertadores competitions in 2009 and 2011 , he also played a total of 16 games for Peñarol. At the Copa Sudamericana 2010 he was used four times. He played his last competitive game for Peñarol on June 22, 2011 in the final of the Copa Libertadores, which he lost 2-1 against FC Santos . Since the end of the loan deal with Central Español, he has played 70 games in the Primera División, four games in the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores (2009) and twelve times - insofar as the sources differ - in the 2010/11 Copa Libertadores season for the Aurinegros on the Space. In August 2011, after a total of 14 years with Peñarol, he moved to Argentina to the Boca Juniors . There he won the Apertura 2011 with the team. In the Clausura 2012 he came to three league appearances, four games of the Copa Argentina are played with his participation. He also played two games in the 2012 Copa Libertadores . With his substitution in the local finals, he took part in the finals of this competition for two consecutive years. However, the title won each time the opponent. In 2012 he joined Vélez Sarsfield . With the club from Buenos Aires he won the championship of the Primera División 2012/13. Sosa completed 25 games in the Argentine Primera División in the championship season . In 2013/14 34 more league appearances followed. In the 2014 season he played 19 times in the Primera División. In 2015, seven more top division games and a play-off game and the Copa Libertadores participation followed. He also played for Vélez Sarsfield in six games in the Copa Sudamericana 2013 , 15 games in the Copa Libertadores and twice in the Copa Argentina and once in the Super Cup. In July 2015 he moved to Mexico to CF Pachuca . While he was not used in the league, the coach resorted to his services in three games of the Copa México . In mid-December 2015 he was loaned to Mineros de Zacatecas . He only played one game in the Copa México and was awarded to the Argentine club Rosario Central in the second half of January 2016 . There he was used 15 times in the league, six times in the Copa Argentina and ten times in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . At the beginning of January 2017, he joined the team of the Mexican club Monarcas Morelia, trained by Pablo Marini .
