SINA

Exhibition stand at CeBIT 2015

SINA was launched on the market in 2002 . SINA (Secure Inter-Network Architecture) is based on a concept that describes an architecture for processing sensitive information in insecure networks. The concept originally comes from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Based on a created IPsec - crypto - Gateway , the sharing of sensitive information about a potentially insecure network such as the Internet allows. The so-called SINA box was developed by secunet in cooperation with the BSI.

In addition to the SINA box, there are now clients and line encryptors under the name SINA that aim to ensure secure communication. Individual components of SINA solutions are in Germany to the classification level Top Secret admitted. There are also international approvals for these products.

SINA is also used by the Foreign Office to transmit data and has also been used for encrypting VoIP calls since 2011 .

Golden Reader Tool

This software application made it possible for the first time to read out ICAO- compliant eMRTDs (Electronic Machine Readable Travel Documents ) such as electronic passports. This created the prerequisites for worldwide interoperability in the area of eMRTDs based on the requirements of the ICAO and the EU .

The Golden Reader Tool was created in a cooperation between the BSI and secunet and was successfully used in numerous interoperability tests - including in Prague in 2008. The software is internationally recognized as a functional reference implementation in the field of electronic passports.

easygate

The automated border control secunet easygate was developed on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior . The nationwide rollout began in 2014 under the EasyPASS project . It is now used at Frankfurt , Munich , Hamburg , Düsseldorf , Berlin-Tegel and Cologne / Bonn airports .

The system uses the data electronically stored in the passport for control purposes and carries out a biometric comparison of the face with the photo stored in the passport to establish identity .

For this purpose, the travelers place their travel document on the document reader located at the entrance of the control gate, which reads the electronic data from the travel document and carries out an authenticity check. The traveler then enters the lock, where the biometric comparison of the face captured by a camera with the passport photo is carried out.

If the travel document is genuine and the biometric comparison has been carried out successfully, the exit opens and the border control is over. Otherwise, you will be escorted to a border police officer of the federal police.

The border control with easygate ideally takes less than 18 seconds and thus speeds up border control. This is made possible by the parallel operation of up to six eGates , because significantly more control capacities are available for travelers.
