Career
society
Yılmaz started his career at Eintracht Südring Berlin. In 2005 he moved from Tennis Borussia Berlin to the youth department of VfL Wolfsburg , for which he later made 52 appearances in the second team.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to MSV Duisburg , where he signed a contract until 2012. He played his first competitive game for his new club in the first main round of the DFB Cup against VfB Lübeck . A week later he also made his professional debut in the second division opener against VfL Osnabrück . During the summer break of 2011, he dissolved his contract with MSV Duisburg and signed with the Turkish club Kayserispor .
After Kayserispor missed relegation in the Süper Lig in the summer of 2014, Yılmaz moved to the traditional club Trabzonspor . Trabzonspor paid the Central Anatolians a transfer fee of € 3.5 million for Yılmaz, plus the transfer fee of their player Anıl Taşdemir (the latter only on condition that Kayserispor reached an agreement with Taşdemir). For the 2016/17 season he was loaned to the promoted Alanyaspor within the Süper Lig .
At the end of August 2017, after mutual agreement with Trabzonspor, his contract was terminated prematurely. Towards the end of the 2017 summer transfer period, he was signed by the second division Boluspor . After one season he moved on to Altınordu Izmir within the TFF 1st Lig .
With his move to Gençlerbirliği Ankara in summer 2019 , Yılmaz returned to the Süper Lig after two seasons .
