Seibelsdorf is a district of the municipality of Antrifttal in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse .
Geographical location
The village is located in Upper Hesse in the valley of the Antrift (Antreff), about one kilometer north-north-west or below the Antrift dam . The state road 3070 ( Ruhlkirchen –Seibelsdorf– Angenrod ) leads through the village, which crosses the district road 67 ( Ohmes –Seibelsdorf– Vockenrod ).
history
The village was founded in the early 12th century. The Teutonic Order built a central courtyard here, which is now a doll museum. It belonged to the Katzenberg court until the 19th century .
Early 19th century the village went with the entire court Katzenberg as a result of Reichsdeputationshauptschluss conclusion of Kurmainzer ownership of Kurhessen over. With the peace treaty between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Grand Duchy of Hesse on September 3, 1866, following the war of 1866 , the villages of the "Katzenberg District" fell to the Grand Duchy. At that time, Kurhessian law applied in Seibelsdorf. This retained its validity even while it belonged to the Grand Duchy of Hesse from 1866. On January 1, 1900, it was replaced by the civil code that was uniformly applicable throughout the German Empire .
As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the five municipalities of Bernsburg, Ohmes, Ruhlkirchen, Seibelsdorf and Vockenrod merged on December 31, 1971 to form the new large municipality of Antrifttal.
