Career

Selim Gündüz began his career in 1999 in Netphen at TuS Deuz , before joining Sportfreunde Siegen in 2007 . In 2009 he moved to the youth department of VfL Bochum , where he was used from 2012 for the second team in the Regionalliga West .

On August 2, 2014, the first matchday of the 2014/15 season , he played for the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga in a 1-1 draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . On February 7th, 2015 he scored his first goal in professional football in a 2-1 defeat at 1. FC Union Berlin with the goal of the interim 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute.

On April 10, 2015, Gündüz extended his contract to June 30, 2018. After the end of the contract, he left the club and joined SV Darmstadt 98 at the end of August 2018 . Due to injury, the Turk was only able to complete one assignment for the club. His one-year contract was not extended after relegation in spring 2019.

The offensive player then received a contract valid until June 2020 at KFC Uerdingen 05 . Until the 11th match day, the German-Turk was regularly used in midfield and on the right wing, but then had no more chances to prove himself until the end of the season. The association no longer extended his expiring contract. For the following season, Gündüz remained in the 3rd division and signed a one-year contract with Halleschen FC .
