Sender Karlshorst is the second music album of the Rummelsnuff project by the German artist Roger Baptist . It was published by Out of Line in 2010 and is assigned to the Electropunk style .
Music style and lyrics
Rummelsnuff himself describes his music as "Derbe Strommusik". The album was mostly produced electronically, only a few additional instruments were used.
The lyrics act like the previous album Halt! of sailors, workers and athletes, in a dark and melancholy mood. Except for the Spanish-language Hombres Hombres , all of the own titles are written in German.
The album title is derived from the Berlin district of Karlshorst , where between 1945 and 1991 the former Red Army and until 1993 the Soviet Army or Russian Armed Forces had the headquarters of the group of Soviet armed forces in Germany . The GDR television center was located in the neighboring district of Adlershof , and most of the album was created on the former premises. There was never a real transmitter with this name. Several tracks on the album allude to the former Soviet Union and Russia , which Rummelsnuff says has always been fascinating. The title Stalin Allee is a kind of late GDR - anthem , with lyrics like:
and
... the urge for people 's democracy has
not been down for a long time.
There are also three cover versions on the album. The 1974 number one hit Mandy by US singer Barry Manilow was Germanized by Rummelsnuff, while he left Gilbert Bécaud's 1964 French chanson Nathalie in the original language. Another classic is the boxer song, which was sung by Max Schmeling in 1930 in the film Liebe im Ring .
