The station Wuppertal-Königshöhe was an implementer of the ARD basic network station from Langenberg and also broadcast its test image ("WDR1 LA9" for ARD WDR 1 Kanal 9 station Langenberg). Its main purpose was to supply the locations in Elberfeld, which were sealed off from Langenberg and could therefore only receive it with reflections.

In addition, the commissioning of channel 8 with a transmission power of 1 kW for the private broadcaster VOX was planned, but this no longer took place.
