The transmitter Wittekindsberg  - the West German Radio Cologne (WDR) as a transmitter Bad Oeynhausen called - is a radio - transmitter on the Wittekindsberg west of the East Westphalian town of Porta Westfalica . It is used to broadcast the radio programs of the WDR, Deutschlandfunk (DLF) and Domradios in analog ( FM on ultra-short wave / Band II ) and / or digital ( DAB + on Band III ) technology.

From the Jakobsberg telecommunications tower on the eastern side of Porta Westfalica , additional radio programs and additional public television programs are broadcast in the digital standard DVB-T2 HD .

The lattice mast with a square base is a former radio transmission tower that was erected on Eggeweg on the ridge of the Wittekindsberg. It protrudes far above the treetops and has been rated by the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe as a space marker.

Digital radio (DAB)

DAB or the successor standard DAB + is broadcast in vertical polarization and in single-frequency mode with other transmitters. On August 29, 2012 the change from DAB channel 12D to DAB channel 11D took place. The multiplex radio for NRW with various programs of the ERP with a power of 0.5 kW is currently being broadcast via this ; until 2015 Radio Impala was also broadcast.
