The transmitter Oelde in the urban area of Oelde in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Warendorf is a transmitter of the West German Broadcasting Corporation (WDR) on the Mackenberg . It was put into operation on January 1, 2000 with a transmission tower made of steel framework and is used for the distribution of digital audio broadcasting (DAB) and mobile communications .

During the Second World War, the transmission system was used to operate the Air Force transmitter Primadonna .

Geographical location

The transmitter Oelde is located in the Beckum Mountains about 300 m east-northeast of the summit of the Mackenberg near the Oelder district Sünninghausen . About 35 m southwest of its transmission tower is a trigonometric point at a height of 172.9  m .

General

The Oelde transmitter is used to broadcast DAB + and as a cellular base station . The nationwide multiplex is on channel 11D via DAB + . The transmitter started with a transmission power of 0.5 kW ERP . On January 28, 2020, the power was increased to 1 kW ERP. The antenna height is given as 58 m.
