Senning is a place with 351 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Korneuburg district in Lower Austria and a cadastral municipality of the market town of Sierndorf . It is not to be confused with the Senning of the Kirchstetten community in the St. Pölten district .

Senning is located in the southern Weinviertel in Lower Austria.
history
The place was founded by Sengo and his people in the 8th or 9th century and was later called Söming and Senig . The oldest mentions of the place were Seggigin around 1195 and Senging in 1260. In 1298 it was first mentioned in a document and around 1700 it was called Senning.
Culture and sights
societies
The numerous Sennings clubs are well known. These include hunting horn players, a church choir, a youth group and the Senninger youth, who organize and lead various events in the area.
church
Senning is its own parish. In the village there is a church from the 14th century, which was rebuilt in the baroque period from 1774 to 1775. The church tower was not erected until 1802. Originally the building was a fortified church , but today only the wall bordering the cemetery reminds of the old church fortress .
