Sergei Illarionowitsch Wassiltschikow ( Russian : Васильчиков, Сергей Илларионович; born September 9, 1849 in Kiev , † August 27, 1926 in Versailles ) was a Russian prince , landowner and general of the cavalry in the Imperial Russian Army .

Life

Sergei Illarionovich had inherited large estates in Voronezh Oblast and the governorates of Saint Petersburg and Kovno from his parents . But he didn't want to be a big landowner and decided to pursue a military career.

In 1867 he entered the -Corps of Imperial one, after his training he became a cornet in the Berittene- bodyguard - Regiment transferred. After five years of service, he was appointed personal adjutant to Tsar Alexander II (1818–1881) in 1872. Between 1877 and 1878 he was a participant in the Russo-Ottoman War and served in the Tsar's bodyguard and guard unit . From 1885 to 1890, now with the rank of colonel , he was commander of the 17th Dragoons regiment. From 1890 to 1896, as major general from 1891 , he was in command of his majesty's hussar body regiment . After the Russian Revolution in 1917 , Prince Vasilchikov emigrated to France and died in Versailles in 1926.

Knes SI Wassiltschikow came from the princely family Wassiltschikow , he was the son of the governor Prince Illarion Illarionowitsch Wassiltschikow (1805-1862) and his wife Katharina Alexejewna Shcherbatowa (1818-1869). Sergei married Maria Nikolajewna Isakowa (1853-1922), her descendants were Sofia (1879-1927), Illarion (1881-1969), Nicholas (1883-1927) and George (1890-1915).
