Serinda Swan (born July 11, 1984 in West Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress and model .

Career

Swan was born in West Vancouver , British Columbia in 1984 to an actress and theater director. In a short interview, she explained that her parents were hippies and that she was named after an ancient Tibetan musical instrument. Swan started modeling after winning a modeling contest when she was 14.

Swan made her acting debut in the Bollywood film Neal 'n' Nikki, which was partly shot in British Columbia . This was followed by minor appearances in predominantly Canadian productions, including supporting roles in the television series Blood Ties - Biss auf Blut (2007), Psych (2008) and Reaper - A devilish job (2009). In 2008, Swan appeared in the music video for the single So Happy by the Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman . Supporting roles in several television films followed in 2009, as well as a leading role in the romantic comedy The Break-Up Artist . In the television series Smallville she was seen in two episodes as Zatanna Zatara .

In 2010 Swan played the role of Aphrodite in the fantasy film Percy Jackson - Thieves in Olympus , in Tron: Legacy she was seen as a siren .

In 2011 Swan got a leading role in the American action series Breakout Kings , where she plays the former bounty hunter Erica Reed . The series was discontinued the following year after two seasons with a total of 23 episodes.

Since 2013 Swan has played the role of Paige Arkin in the US crime series Graceland .

Apart from film and television, Swan also works as a photo model, for example for the US fashion brand GUESS , the Canadian brand Dorinha Jeans Wear and the poker site Absolute Poker .

Private

Swan works for various charities, including Friends to Mankind, the Somaly Mam Foundation and Nothing But Nets, a United Nations Foundation project .
