The Seychellois, also known as the Seychellois Shorthair or Seychelles Cat , is a medium-sized, short-haired breed cat that is only fully recognized by the Fédération Internationale Féline and the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy . There are currently no reviews from the Cat Fanciers' Association , World Association of Cat Clubs .

history

Systematic breeding of this breed of cats began in the United Kingdom , where it began in 1960. This cat breed comes from a side branch of a breed line of oriental shorthair cats , which were available in the colors red, tortie, tabby or lynx point. The CFA lists this breed as an oriental shorthair in the colors monochrome, shaded, smoke, tabbies, multi-colored. The GCCF does not yet have any classifications.

Appearance

This breed is recognized nowadays in the colors: Black, White, Blue, Havana, Lilac, Caramel, Fawn, Red, Creme Smoke, Shaded, Tabby, Tipped. The body is elongated, muscular. The head shape of the Seychellois is wedge-shaped from the nose towards the ears and is otherwise similar to that of the Siamese . It has no cores at the base of the whiskers. The chin is pointed. The almond-shaped, large eyes are slightly inclined towards the nose. The large ears have a broad head base and are wedge-shaped. The rest of the muscular body is long and graceful, the shoulders are no wider than the hips. The legs are long and narrow, the paws are small and oval. The thin tail is very long and tapers towards the end.

Shades of color

The Seychellois Neuvième is almost completely white, only the tail is colored and a few smaller spots on the head. Seychellois Huitième is represented in all colors, but mostly they are white, with only the tail and some areas on the head and legs being colored with dots. Seychellois Septième hardly has any of the basic white coloring and shows up in all color variants of the breed.

health

Defects include weak hind legs, mouth breathing due to nasal congestion, kinked tail, dwarfism, white medallion, ring-shaped, tabby or striped fur .
