Shane Hurlbut

Luther Shane Hurlbut (born February 18, 1964 in Ithaca , New York ) is an American cameraman .

Life

Hurlbut studied at Emerson College in Boston . At the same time, the first Super 8 films were made. In 1987 he moved to Los Angeles , where he soon took on his first assignments in film productions. In 1990 he met Daniel Pearl , whom he supported in the shooting of more than 100 music videos over the next few years . He then worked with photographer Herb Ritts and music video director Kevin Kerslake, among others .

From the end of the 1990s, Hurlbut filmed his first feature film productions. Hurlbut worked with directors such as McG , John Stockwell and Bill Paxton , among others .

In 2009 he filmed McG's action film Terminator: Salvation . During the filming, Hurlbut was severely abused by actor Christian Bale after he had problems with the light on a take and got too close to the set. Bale's tirade was recorded and posted on the Internet shortly afterwards. Bale later publicly apologized for his reaction, which he described as completely exaggerated.

His marriage to Lydia Hurlbut resulted in a daughter and a son.
