Shaun Christopher Hill (* 9. January 1980 in Parsons , Kansas ) is an American American football poker players at the position of quarterback . He plays with the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL).

Earlier years

Hill played two years as safety in addition to quarterback during his time at high school . In his first two years in college, Hill played as a quarterback at Hutchinson Community College . He then moved to the University of Maryland for the last two years . In 2002 Hill played with his team in the Orange Bowl and finished tenth of all colleges at the end of the season.

Professional career

Minnesota Vikings

Hill signed up for the 2002 NFL Draft , but was not selected by any team. He later got a contract as a rookie free agent from the Minnesota Vikings . In 2003 Hill was given to the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe so that he could get match practice. Hill played in Amsterdam for a year and then went back to the Vikings.

San Francisco 49ers

From the 2006 season Hill played for the San Francisco 49ers , where he made his first game as a starting quarterback in the NFL. In 2007 Hill was starting quarterback for the 49ers in two of three games. In the next season Hill got significantly more game shares and started in eight of nine games. Before the 2009 season, the new head coach of the 49ers announced that they would start the season with Hill as a starter. He didn't perform well during that time and started six games but was replaced by Alex Smith .

Detroit Lions

In March 2010, the Lions announced they would give Hill a two-year contract to back up quarterback Matthew Stafford .

St. Louis Rams

On March 26, 2014, Shaun signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Rams . In the pre-season season, Sam Bradford , the starting quarterback of the Rams, injured his knee, which meant the premature end of the season for him. Hill moved into the starting lineup of the Rams at the start of the season.

Minnesota Vikings

On March 10, 2015, he signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings, where he is used as a backup for Teddy Bridgewater .
