Sickenhausen is a district of Reutlingen in the Reutlingen district in Baden-Württemberg . District mayor is Erich Fritz.

geography

Sickenhausen is located on the northwestern outskirts of Reutlingen, around five kilometers from the city center. The village borders the Altenburg district in the north, Rommelsbach in the east, Degerschlacht in the south and the municipality of Kirchentellinsfurt ( Tübingen district ) in the west . Sickenhausen has a connection to the federal highway 464 , which separates the place from Rommelsbach.

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1089/90 in a deed of donation to the Zwiefalten monastery . Thereafter, the Reutlingen patrician family Teufel were local lords, who sold Altenburg, Degerschlacht and Sickenhausen in 1444 to Count Ludwig von Württemberg . So Sickenhausen belonged to the Oberamt Tübingen . In 1938 the place came to the district of Reutlingen, on April 1, 1972 it was incorporated into the city of Reutlingen.
