Siegfried Rudolf Hermann von Boehn (born May 18, 1901 in Deutsch Buckow , † March 24, 1988 in Tutzing ) was a Pomeranian homeland researcher and genealogist .

Life

Siegfried von Boehn came from the Pomeranian noble family von Boehn , his parents were the royal Prussian captain , member of the Prussian House of Representatives and the German Reichstag, and heir in German Buckow, Siegfried von Boehn (1865-1945) and Anna Schaumann (1875-1960).

Boehn initially embarked on an officer career in the Reichswehr and served there a. a. in the 9th (Prussian) Infantry Regiment . He later worked in the Wehrmacht as captain and chief of the 14th company in the 35th Infantry Regiment and ended his military career in 1945 with the rank of lieutenant colonel . After the war he found a job as a clerk in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior . All his life he collected material to his family, another focus extinct behind Pomeranian noble families and history. It was only when he was retired that he came to evaluate and publish this material. His genealogical works (families Hebron , Gutzmerow , Chorke , Schulten , pieces and Janitz ) are mostly published in the Sedina archive, but also (family Carnitz ) in the German family archive or (family Cocceji ) in the genealogy. Completed articles on the families Borcke-Brallenthin , Bilfinger , Butzke , Brünnow , Chinow , Denzin , Galbrecht , Grell , Hoym , Jannewitz , Krümmel , Miltitz , Schwawe , Schwetzkow , Tessen , Woyte and Woyen remained unpublished . These are now kept in the German Aristocratic Archives , the Herder Institute and the Central Office for Genealogy in Leipzig .

As a local researcher he dealt intensively with the history of Pomeranian goods , especially for the old districts Schlawe and Stolp . He contributed to the home book Der Kreis Schlawe and the parish chronicles Krangen , Wusterwitz and Quatzow. Further essays by Boehn have appeared in the Ostdeutsche Familienkunde or the Familiengeschichtliche Blätter.

Boehn was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John and married Dorothea von Caprivi (1913–1984), daughter of Colonel i on March 31, 1937 in Berlin-Zehlendorf . G. a. D. Leopold von Caprivi and Freiin Orlinda von Rosenberg. The marriage resulted in three daughters and one son.
