Career

Simeon Chamow is among other things Bulgarian U22 champion in 2012, as well as Bulgarian champion in 2013 and 2014. His greatest success as a youngster was winning the silver medal at the 2006 Cadet European Championships in Tirana .

At the 2009 World Championships in Milan , he was eliminated in the first fight against Maxim Ignatiev. The U22 European Championships 2012 in Kaliningrad he finished in the quarterfinals after a defeat against Saal Kwachatadze .

At the European Championships in Minsk in 2013 he defeated Eimantas Stanionis before losing to Youba Sissokho in the second fight . He also started at the 2013 World Championships in Almaty . There he defeated Allan Mahfoud and Roberto Queiroz, but then retired against Araik Marutjan .

In 2014 he won the EU championships in Sofia by defeating Hüseyin Karslıoğlu, John Joyce , Souleymane Cissokho and Eimantas Stanionis . He then took part in the 2015 European Championships in Samokow , where he reached the quarter-finals against Ahmed Džananović and Gela Abashidze and was eliminated this time by Eimantas Stanionis. At the 2015 European Games in Baku he lost to Yaroslav Samofalov .

At the European Olympic qualification in 2016 in Trabzon he lost the first fight against Tamerlan Abdullajew with 12: 12+, which is why he also competed in the global qualification in Baku . There he beat Lyndell Marcellin, Mohamed Elabdoulli and this time also Jaroslaw Samofalow, was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Souleymane Cissokho and was able to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , as Cissokho won the tournament. At the Olympic Games he defeated Onur Şipal in the preliminary round and was eliminated in the round of 16 against Sailom Adi .

In the round of 16 of the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he lost to Pərviz Bağırov and thus missed the qualification for participation in the 2017 World Championships .
