Youba Ndiaye Sissokho (* 7. November 1991 in Dakar , Senegal ) is a Spanish boxer in the welterweight division .

Career

Youba Sissokho was born in Senegal and grew up in Spain, where he lives in Mallorca . He is around 1.82 m tall and won the Golden Gloves Tournament in Serbia in 2011 . At the 2013 European Championships in Minsk he reached seventh place and won the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin .

In 2014 he was eliminated from the EU championships in Sofia against Souleymane Cissokho , but won the Boxam Tournament in Cartagena in 2015 with victories against Souleymane Cissokho, Balázs Bácskai and Alejandro Moya. After he was eliminated by Alexander Besputin at the 2015 European Games in Baku , he took part in the 2015 European Championships in Samokov and won a bronze medal. After victorious duels against Vasile Belous and Zdeněk Chládek , he was only defeated in the semi-finals against Eimantas Stanionis . He was thus qualified for the 2015 World Championships in Doha , where he was able to beat Sailom Adi but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Eumir Marcial .

At the APB / WSB World Olympic Qualifier in Venezuela he was able to fight for a starting place for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but lost in the first fight against Shaxram Gʻiyosov at the Olympics .

He won the silver medal at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and the 2018 EU Championships .
