The 2018/19 season was the nineteenth season of the European Skeleton Cup , which is organized and played by the IBSF . This racing series, together with the Intercontinental Cup 2018/19 and the North American Cup 2018/19, is part of the substructure of the World Cup 2018/19 . The results of the eight races of the season at five competition locations were included in the IBSF Skeleton Ranking 2019/20 .
As in the 2015/16 season , the victory in the overall standings went to the two Germans Janine Becker from RSG Hochsauerland and Fabian Küchler from RT Suhl . After Julia Eichhorn , Marion Trott and Tina Hermann, Janine Becker was only the fourth female skeleton pilot to win the overall ranking of the European Cup twice. During the season Janine Becker won four out of eight races and was on the podium in the other races as well. Second place was secured by her team colleague Hannah Neise , who won one race and was on the podium in a total of five races. Third and fourth place went to two other Germans, Luisa Hornung and Josefa Schellmoser . In the men's category, Fabian Küchler was only the second skeleton pilot after Dominic Rady to win the overall ranking of the European Cup twice. Second place went to Russian Jewgeni Rukossuev ahead of Cedric Renner from Germany.
