Smerup Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Stevns Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Fakse Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Faxe Kommune in the Sjælland region as part of the local reform on January 1, 2007 .

394 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Smerup Kirke" is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are in the west Vemmetofte Sogn and Spjellerup Sogn , furthermore in the east Stevns commune in the north Hellested Sogn and in the east Lyderslev Sogn .
