Vester Egede Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Tyjberg Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Rønnede Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Faxe Kommune in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

666 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church "Vester Egede Kirke".

Neighboring communities are in the north Bråby Sogn , in the northeast Ulse Sogn and in the southeast Kongsted Sogn , furthermore in the southwestern Næstved_Kommune Toksværd Sogn .
