history

The corridors of Sonnau are a scenic area of the former Gemain Perchting that until the local meanness division of 1810 as common land was used. The old field names indicate the type of cultivation at that time, to which all farms in the village were entitled to use. There were the “herb gardens” of the farms, the “Linslmoos”, an old peat cut near the Maisinger See and above all the “Sauwiesen” in the beech forest. Its fruits guaranteed a good master 's success with the village sows that were tended there together .

The old field names are history, they were summarized in the term "Sonnau" - although it is mainly a forest area. As with the neighboring Jägersbrunn , this is also a fantasy name that appears for the first time in the 20th century. The name of the area, which was initially colloquial, is recorded in writing for the first time in a “Book of Honor for Village Participants in the First World War”. There is an address under the photo of a man: “Einsiedler in der Sonnau”. From other sparse sources it can be deduced that there was a game warden's wooden house there in 1919 and that a fur farm was established there in 1934. In 1961, 25 residents lived in five residential buildings in the Sonnau.

Since 1972, the corridors are within the protected landscape Western part of the district of Starnberg . Since this status ruled out further residential development, the small settlement with its single-family houses scattered in the forest has only grown slightly since then.
