Sony Alpha 500
The Sony α500 ( DSLR-A500 ) and the Sony α550 ( DSLR-A550 ) are digital SLR of Sony from the α-series . The camera was launched in Austria, Switzerland and Germany in October 2009.

The α500 has a CMOS image sensor in APS-C format (23.5 × 15.6 mm) with 12.3 megapixels , the CMOS image sensor of the α550 creates 14 megapixels. The handle sensor for the eye-start function is not installed in the version for the European market because of its nickel content.
The memory card compartment on the handle can be opened and, in addition to an SDHC memory card, also takes a memory stick. Information and the recorded images are displayed on the rear, tiltable 3-inch display.
There are separate buttons for the most important settings, with which the setting can be adjusted using the rotary knob. The camera has both a live view function and a manual focus check that is magnified up to 14 × using the recording sensor.
