The Sony α57 ( SLT-A57V , SLT-A57 ) is a mid -range camera that has been available in German stores since April 2012. It is the successor to the Sony α55 and, like this one, has a partially transparent mirror. Sony calls this design “ single-lens translucent camera ”, or SLT camera for short . As an SLT, it offers phase comparison autofocus in live view and an electronic viewfinder . In contrast to the previous model, however, it does not have a built-in GPS module.

By using the partially transparent mirror instead of the otherwise usual folding mirror, which has to be folded up for the recording , it is possible to take up to twelve images per second with constant refocusing . Up to now, this speed has only been reserved for much more expensive cameras, if at all. This also makes it possible to focus in live view mode at the same speed as with the viewfinder. As usual with Sony, the α57 has a built-in image stabilizer for the 16.2 megapixel sensor.

The Sony α57 is available in the following versions:

  • SLT-A57 (camera without lens )
  • SLT-A57K (camera with 18–55 mm / 3.5-5.6 Sony lens )
  • SLT-A57M (camera with 18–135 mm / 3.5-5.6 Sony lens )
  • SLT-A57Y (camera with 18–55 mm / 3.5-5.6 and 55–200 mm / 4-5.6 Sony lens )

Individual evidence

  1. Sony (along with other manufacturers) counts the subpixels of each pixel, i.e. H. the red, green and blue channels of each pixel individually, and therefore specifies the rear display with 307,200 [pixels] × 3 [color channels] = 921,600 pixels.
