The Sony Xperia E is an entry-level smartphone the Xperia series of Sony. It was officially announced on December 5, 2012. It has the same design as the Xperia J , only it has a 3.5 inch screen. There is also a dual SIM variant of the Xperia E called Xperia E dual .
The Xperia E was delivered with the Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sony UI . Since then, there has only been a small update to Android 4.1.1, which is also called Jelly Bean . The last update has version number 11.3.A.2.33 and was released on July 11, 2014.
Display
The Sony Xperia E has a 3.5 inch (10.16 cm) TFT - LC display with a resolution of 320 × 480 pixels (approx. 165 ppi pixel density ) and a color space of 262,144 colors. According to measurements from various trade magazines, the brightness of the display is around 392 cd / m² , which is not quite enough to operate the smartphone without problems in direct sunlight.
The touch screen also supports multi-touch - gestures with up to four fingers.
camera
The Xperia E offers a 3.2 MP main camera whose software offers autofocus , focusing and recording by tapping, geotagging , an image stabilizer, red-eye reduction, self-timer and face and smile detection. It does not have an LED flash.
design
The appearance of the Xperia E consists largely of polycarbonate and has a mixture of the "OmniBalance" design of the Xperia-Z series and the design of the earlier Xperia arc design line. It has a large LED notification bar on the lower edge of the front, which can light up in different colors. Unlike the smartphones of the Xperia Z series, the Xperia E is neither waterproof nor dustproof. However, this also means that no flaps are required for the connections.
Evaluation and criticism
In expert tests such as B. Connect magazine praised the handy design offered for the price, which is well made, but criticized the camera and the speed of the cell phone.
