Sope Dirisu (* 1991 in London ) is a British actor .

Life

Sope Dirisu was born in London to Nigerian parents, a historian and a lawyer, and grew up in Edgware in the London Borough of Barnet .

He gained his first acting experience in school performances at Bedford Modern School and from 2006 to 2013 with the National Youth Theater . He studied economics at the University of Birmingham , graduating in 2012. He then took part in an audition for the Royal Shakespeare Company , with which he appeared in the title roles in Pericles, Prince of Tire and 2017 in Coriolanus . He was nominated for the Ian Charleson Award 2017 for his portrayal of Coriolanus .

In 2014 he had an episode role in the series Utopia and a recurring role as Peter in The Mill . In 2015, he appeared in the miniseries A Sudden Death as a Young Doctor. From 2015 to 2018 he played the role of Fred in the science fiction television series Humans from Channel 4 . In the German version it was dubbed by Manuel Straube .

He made his cinema debut in 2016 with the action thriller The Jerico Project and the fantasy film The Huntsman & The Ice Queen (2016) with Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron , in which he could be seen as Tull. The German dubbed version was spoken by Fabian Oscar Wien . He also had a role in the war film Sand Castle (2017) with Nicholas Hoult and Henry Cavill . He played the role of Sonny Sullivan in the ITV series The Halcyon (also 2017).

Since 2020 he has played the role of Elliot Finch in the Sky series Gangs of London alongside Joe Cole as Sean Wallace. In the German version, Johann Fohl lent him the voice.
