history

Location of Dipperz ("Dieperts") on a map of the Fulda bishopric from 1574

Dipperz was first mentioned in 1261. In the Middle Ages there was a chapel in the village , and in 1512 a baptismal font is documented. Dipperz was mentioned in 1510 and 1594 as belonging to the parish of Margretenhaun. In 1574 Dipperz ( Dieperts ) appears on a map of the Hochstift Fulda .

In 1674 the patron saint was St. Anthony the Hermit. In 1812 there is already a church that burned down in the village fire of 1892. Dipperz became an independent parish in 1841.

The church

The historicizing brick building was erected between 1895 and 1896 and consecrated under Bishop Georg Ignaz Komp . The architect and diocesan master builder of the Diocese of Paderborn Arnold Güldenpfennig , who comes from Paderborn , has left behind a rather rare " North German signature " with the church for the Fulda region . He was also the planner of the Boniface Monastery in Hünfeld and the Sacred Heart Chapel on the Schulzenberg near Haimbach .

The two sculptures above the portals were made by the sculptor Johannes Kirsch from Petersberg. The baptismal font , adorned with relief decoration, dates from 1512.

In the garden of the rectory on Wilhelm-Ney-Straße there is a Romanesque baptismal font with a round arch frieze .

Pastoral Association
